"If you decide to view this, your parents will get a notification to make sure you're OK," reads the warning screen. The child can choose to view the photo anyway, and for children that are under the age of 13, parents can opt to get a notification if their child clicks through to view a blurred photo. "It's not your fault, but sensitive photos and videos can be used to hurt you." "Sensitive photos and videos show the private body parts that you cover with bathing suits," reads Apple's warning. If nudity is detected, the photo will be automatically blurred and the child will be warned that the photo might contain private body parts. If a parent turns on Communication Safety for the Apple ID account of a child, Apple will scan images that are sent and received in the Messages app for nudity. One of the new features, Communication Safety, has raised privacy concerns because it allows Apple to scan images sent and received by the Messages app for sexually explicit content, but Apple has confirmed that this is an opt-in feature limited to the accounts of children and that it must be enabled by parents through the Family Sharing feature.

The Lens included virtual vegetation that even climbed to the walls and cabinets inside the room.Apple today announced a series of new child safety initiatives that are coming alongside the latest iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterey updates and that are aimed at keeping children safer online. Snapchat, in its application of the LiDAR sensor, created a Lens in its app where flowers and grasses would grow in the room around a user. We’re excited to develop more innovative effects in 2021!,” TikTok said in its announcement. “To ring in 2021 we released our first AR effect on the new iPhone 12 Pro, using LiDAR technology which allows us to create effects that interact with your environment – visually bridging the digital and physical worlds. Along with AR capabilities, the LiDAR sensor also improves the iPhone’s depth sensing capabilities. Support for LiDAR (light detection and ranging) helps iPhones better understand the world around users, by measuring how long it takes for light to reach an object in the space and reflect back. After a countdown, the ball drops and explodes to fill the room with confetti, as well as a floating “2021” animation in the air.
The effect introduced in TikTok features an AR ball, similar to the one that drops in the Times Square on New Year’s Eve. The app confirmed on Wednesday that it has launched its first-ever LiDAR-powered effect. Now, short-form video app TikTok has also followed suit. Putting a LiDAR scanner on the iPhone gave developers an extra tool to play around with, and Snapchat was among the first apps to leverage the iPhone 12 Pro’s LiDAR scanner for AR. Apple launched the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max as the first iPhone models that came with a LiDAR scanner for augmented reality applications.
